Internal memory card reader crashing computer?

Anytime i try and use any memory card in my reader windows explorer and my computer and wont let me do anything until i pull the card out. Any ideas or advice?

Borrow an external card reader from a friend and see if it will read the cards in question both on your friend’s computer as well as on your own.

If that does work, then you may have a bad internal reader.

If it’s a drive bay reader that can be removed, then open up the case and remove it and replace it with a new one.

If it can’t be replaced, then trace the cabled from the reader to the motherboard and disconnect them. Then go and buy yourself an external one.
